Finger food farewell party
One of the last books that I recently have read ended with the following sentence – “Home is where the heart is”. Maybe it is the reason that in the last decade, a large number of youngsters from Macedonia more often and not by any chance decide to find their happiness apart from the borders of their homeland.
And so happens for our close and dear friends Nemanja and Kristina to move to Mata. It is a country that apart from being known as one of the most beautiful in Europe, an island in the Mediterranean with an exquisite climate and long interesting history, it offers a great opportunity for finding a job.
Nemanja applied for several job positions related to his profession as animator and 3D artist, and after he was requested to attend an interview, he, his wife and their dog Alex decided to leave.
As good host we’ve decided to organize for them a farewell party where we would toast to their luck and success and of course eat something. Since we didn’t wanted to prepare loads of food, and since both of them are not so much of eaters, we’ve decided to prepare a variety of finger food.
So to say, as the day went by in the preparation, I and Ana were more and more thrilled by our deed. All we made looked just perfect. That is why we decided to share with you the photographs that we hope to be inspiring, so you can throw such a party for your close ones.
The menu was consisted of mini burgers from home-made buns, covered with mayonnaise and mustard cream and filled with pieces of mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, and for perfect flavor we added a little bit of mini fresh basil that we picked from our garden.
We roasted strips of zucchini that we later on rolled and filled with aromatic cheese. From that aromatic cheese prepared out of white farmers’ cheese, Greek yoghurt and spices we made balls rolled in black sesame, and part of them in regular sesame seed and then we fried them.
We had some frozen beaded phyllo dough rolls that we fried, and then cut in pieces and decorated with cherry tomatoes and green olives. We even prepared mini lasagna that unfortunately you cannot see on photographs because in all the preparation and fuss we forgot to photograph. To tell you the truth, we had a blast time that night.
Despite the fact that we regretted our friends leaving and promised to see each other very soon, we enjoyed the good food and iced beer. We wished them good luck and promised ourselves that the first chance we have, we will visit them as a family in Malta. If they like it there, than let Malta be their home.
